PBIS

PBIS - David Perdue Primary

At Military Heights Elementary, we want every student to feel happy, safe, and ready to learn. That’s why we use PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) to help our students be their best selves.

What is PBIS?
PBIS is a way to teach and encourage good behavior. It helps us create a school where everyone feels respected and cared for.

How Does PBIS Work?

  • Clear Expectations: We make sure students know what good behavior looks like in the classroom, hallways, cafeteria, and playground.
  • Positive Reinforcement: We praise and reward students for following the rules and being kind and respectful.
  • Support and Help: For students who need extra support, we provide special help to guide them toward positive behavior.

Why PBIS?
PBIS helps make our school a great place to learn and grow. By focusing on good behavior, we make our school a happy and positive place for everyone.

We are excited about the positive changes PBIS brings to our school and look forward to a wonderful school year together!

Thank you for helping us make Military Heights Elementary the best it can be!

Understanding Our PBIS Behavior Flowchart

At Military Heights Elementary, we use a PBIS behavior flowchart to help manage behavior in a clear and fair way. Here’s how it works:

  1. Positive Behavior:

    • Students are encouraged to follow school rules. Good behavior is praised and rewarded.
  2. Minor Issues:

    • For small problems, teachers give reminders and may take simple actions like moving the student or giving a short break.
  3. Major Issues:

    • For serious problems, students are sent to the office, and parents are contacted. We work together to help the student improve.
  4. Extra Support:

    • Students with frequent issues get extra help, like meeting with a counselor or creating a behavior plan.
  5. Focus on Positivity:

    • We always aim to recognize and reward good behavior to encourage more of it.

The flowchart ensures everyone knows what to expect and helps keep our school a positive and safe place for all students. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
